Announcements

  1. A warm welcome to everyone who joined us this morning. We are delighted to see you all.

  2. 57th Baptism will be held on 20/04 as a combined service for all three congregations. For those who want to be baptised, please contact any Deacon, Pastor or your Small Group Leader. The deadline is 09/03. All baptism applicants are required to have their nurturing course completed. Once an application is received, baptism class will be arranged and the deacons will meet with you to confirm your faith. Please also contact us if you would like to have your church membership transferred to HWC or would like to have child dedication.

  3. Aspire Together Workshop (Part 2): Thank you to everyone who attended the last session! We will be holding a second session today after the English Service at 10:30. Please join us as we continue to grow and learn together.

  4. Inauguration Ceremony for Reverend Manuel Lam: Thank the Lord for His guidance! The Inauguration Ceremony for our new Cantonese Pastor, Reverend Manuel Lam, will be held during worship today at around 11:40am. We invite all brothers and sisters to set aside time to attend and witness God’s grace and leading. May God use Reverend Manuel Lam and Reverend Mureen Wong as a faithful team to lead the Cantonese congregation, shepherd His people, proclaim the gospel, disciple believers, and build a church that glorifies His name.

  5. Children's Sunday School:

Children's Sunday School will resume on March 2nd, from 10:45 AM to 12:00 PM. The program is designed for children aged 3 to 11 years old. Parents with children joining this year, if your child has not been registered before or if any information needs to be updated, please contact Emily Tsang. She will be available to assist parents every Sunday in February from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM in the kitchen of the new building.

We are also looking for helpers to assist with children aged 3 to 7 years old. If you enjoy caring for children and are willing to serve in this ministry, please contact Emily for more details.

  6. Small Groups Launch – Our Small Groups will officially launch next Sunday during TNT time. All groups will gather together for this special session. We encourage everyone to come and be part of this time of fellowship and commitment to growing in Christ together.

Mission News

  1. Pray for the Missions Goals of All Three Congregations: Pray that each congregation embraces the Great Commission in the new year, focusing not only on local outreach but also on the needs of missionaries and the gospel's reach to distant places. May the gospel be proclaimed to the ends of the earth!

  2. S & C: Praise God for the successful Christmas event—a grand banquet with 30 tables—where families enjoyed a life education gathering centered on family happiness. Give thanks for the home group members who are now supporting a couple to evangelize in other towns.

  3. H & P: Praise God for the opportunity during Christmas to share the story of Jesus' birth and His love at a public school with 1,600 students and teachers, despite the school's Buddhist background. Give thanks for His protection during a car accident that left their vehicle severely damaged. Pray for H’s continued recovery and the smooth handling of post-accident procedures.

  4. Reverend Janet Tam: After a busy Christmas period, she is now preparing to release a long-anticipated gospel booklet in English and Sinhala. Pray for its impact. She is also planning to establish the first Chinese children’s and youth orchestra in the area as a tool for musical discipleship and pre-evangelism. Pray for God’s guidance.

  5. H & Y: Serving in a remote Islamic area as international students, they are protected by their academic excellence and support from their teachers despite suspicions about their purpose. Pray for provision amidst rising living costs and rent increases. Remember them as their visas expire in March and they need renewal. Pray for protection as two colleagues were deported last year.

  6. Pastor James & Jessica Che: Pray for their ministry and health as they return to serve in New Zealand.

  7. Nicholas Yao: Pray for strength and guidance as he transitions to ministry in Wellington after the summer. May God help him adapt quickly to the new environment.

Prayer Items

  1. Pray for the Aspire Together Workshop – That participants will be encouraged, equipped, and united in purpose as they learn and grow together.

Pray for the preparation of Children's Sunday School – That teachers and helpers will be strengthened, and children will have open hearts to learn and grow in their faith.

Pray for the sermon: Living With Purpose – That God will speak through His Word, challenging us to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Christ wholeheartedly.
