Giving

Let us remember the joy of giving and the blessings it brings to both the giver and the receiver. Tithe offering is a duty of all Christians. By giving, we honour God and fulfill His work through our church. May God bless the offering we willingly give. For more details on how you can give, please visit our church website: https://holywordchurch.org.nz/en/giving.

Prayer Items for this Week

  • Pray that we would learn to follow God’s guidance as Israel followed the cloud and fire. May we trust His leading, even when the way ahead is unclear.

  • Pray that God would teach us to wait on Him instead of rushing ahead on our own. May we grow in patience, listening hearts, and deeper trust in His timing.

  • Pray that we would live each day aware of God’s presence with us. May His presence bring us peace, direction, and confidence as we walk with Him.

Mission Monthly Prayer Items (May 2026)

  1. Pray for the Sri Lanka Short-Term Mission Team (3–14 July)—Pastor Herman Yeung, Mance Chan, Kallen Chan, and Oliver Kuik—as they are currently undergoing training and fundraising. Ask God to unite and equip them, provide for all their needs, and guide them as they prepare gifts and materials to bring to those in need. Please also pray for the commissioning ceremony on 24 May, that the Lord would strengthen and send them out as faithful witnesses of the gospel.

  2. Pray for S & C as they continue serving on the mission field, that God would strengthen them in their daily ministry and give them wisdom in building relationships with the people they are serving. Ask also for His protection over their family, and for endurance and joy in their calling.

  3. Pray that God would continue to use H & P in building meaningful relationships with students and families, opening doors for deeper gospel conversations. Ask the Lord to bless their ongoing training and equip them for cross-cultural ministry. Pray also for perseverance and physical strength as they serve faithfully in a demanding and challenging environment.

  4. Pray for Rev Janet as she grieves the sudden passing of her co-worker, asking God to comfort her, strengthen her, and grant her peace in this season of sorrow. Pray also for the late pastor’s family, especially his wife, that they would experience God’s presence and hope. Pray for the Sri Lankan Chinese Church in this time of transition, that God would provide faithful workers to shepherd the congregation, and strengthen Rev Janet in her preaching and pastoral responsibilities. Pray for new seekers to respond to the gospel, and for ongoing ministry efforts, including gospel materials translation, to bear fruit. Finally, pray for Sri Lanka amid economic difficulties, that God would bring stability and draw many to Christ, that they may find true rest in Him.

  5. Give thanks for H & Y’s faithful cross-cultural ministry and their partnership with the church over the past years. Pray for God’s guidance as they continue their training and prepare for future ministry opportunities, especially in seeking ways to return to the field. Ask also for God’s provision as they settle in Brisbane and look for suitable work, and for strength and grace as they support their daughter during her final year of medical studies.

  6. Pray for God’s provision for Nic as he seeks additional financial support to sustain his campus ministry. Ask the Lord to raise up faithful partners and provide all that he needs, so that he may continue to serve wholeheartedly in reaching students with the gospel.

Prayer Items for this Week

  • Pray that we would truly understand that we were once spiritually dead, but have been made alive in Christ by God’s mercy and grace. May this truth humble us and fill us with gratitude.

  • Pray that we would live as God’s workmanship, not relying on our own effort but walking faithfully in the good works He has prepared for us.

  • Pray that our church would be rooted in God’s grace, becoming a community marked by rest, growth, and genuine love for one another.
