Giving

Let us remember the joy of giving and the blessings it brings to both the giver and the receiver. Tithe offering is a duty of all Christians. By giving, we honour God and fulfill His work through our church. May God bless the offering we willingly give. For more details on how you can give, please visit our church website: https://holywordchurch.org.nz/en/giving.

Prayer Items

  1. Applying the Word – Living Out Christlike Character: Pray that we would not only hear the teachings of Jesus but build our lives on them by putting His words into practice. Ask the Lord to help us grow in Christlike character, becoming doers of the Word who reflect His truth in our daily lives.

  2. Peace Amid Global Conflict: Lift up the regions of the world affected by war and unrest. Pray for peace, protection of innocent lives, wisdom for leaders, and for the church in those places to be a light of hope and healing.

  3. Comfort and Healing for the Sick: Pray for those in our church and beyond who are struggling with illness or recovery. Ask God to bring comfort, strength, and healing to their bodies and peace to their hearts as they lean on Him.

Mission News

  1. S & C will be returning to New Zealand at the end of the year for furlough. Please pray as they train local coworkers to take over various ministries. Ask God to raise up workers with leadership gifts to serve Him faithfully.

  2. H & P will also return to New Zealand for furlough in the middle of this month. Pray for those taking over their ministry roles — may the Lord strengthen them as they serve the community, lead fellowships, and continue outreach among university students.

  3. Pastor Janet Tam, with permission from Evangelism Explosion Hong Kong, has completed a Sinhala translation of an English gospel booklet after more than two years of preparation. This booklet will be shared with local Baptist churches — may the Lord use it mightily. Our pastoral team has also begun initial discussions with Pastor Tam regarding next year’s short-term mission trip. Pray that members from all three congregations will be moved to participate.

  4. Pray for H & Y as they juggle demanding language studies and minister to many spiritual seekers. May the Lord grant them wisdom and strength to balance their time well.

  5. Remember the churches in Tanzania and Ethiopia. Pray for unity among local coworkers and for God to bless their gospel work and pastoral care.

  6. Nicholas Yao is currently inviting new believers and seekers to an upcoming student conference at the end of this month. Pray that God will use the conference to draw many students closer to Christ and bless all who attend.

Prayer Items

  1. Living Out Compassion: Pray that as we reflect on today's sermon that we would be moved to care for “the least of these” in our communities. Ask God to give us hearts of justice, mercy, and compassion, and eyes to see Christ in those who are hungry, lonely, sick, or in need.

  2. Ministry on Campus: Lift up Nic Yao and his ministry at the Wellington university campus. Pray that God would open the hearts of students to the gospel and give Nic wisdom, courage, and strength as he shares the good news and supports those who are seeking Christ.

  3. Those Facing Hardship or Illness: Pray for members of our church family and community who are going through times of hardship, grief, or sickness. Ask for God’s healing, comfort, and provision in their lives, and that they would experience His nearness and peace in this season.
