Giving

Let us remember the joy of giving and the blessings it brings to both the giver and the receiver. Tithe offering is a duty of all Christians. By giving, we honour God and fulfill His work through our church. May God bless the offering we willingly give. For more details on how you can give, please visit our church website: https://holywordchurch.org.nz/en/giving.

Prayer Items for this Week

  1. As we reflect on God’s calling at Mount Sinai, pray that we would remember His saving grace and respond with obedience. May we live as His people—set apart, representing Him faithfully, and joining in His mission in the world.

  2. Pray for the preparation of the Sri Lanka short-term mission team. Ask the Lord to unite them, guide their training, provide for their needs, and prepare their hearts to serve faithfully alongside Rev Janet Tam.

  3. Pray that we would have a deeper desire to grow in faith through God’s Word. May He give us hunger to read, understand, and live it out, so that our lives are shaped more and more by Him.

Mission News for April

  1. Pray for the Sri Lanka Short-Term Mission Team (3–14 July) as they undergo training and begin fundraising. Ask God to unite and equip Pastor Herman Yeung, Mance Chan, Kallen Chan, and Oliver Kuik, provide for all their needs, and prepare their hearts to serve faithfully alongside Rev Janet Tam.

  2. Pray for S & C as they continue serving on the mission field, that God would open doors for the gospel and give them wisdom in building relationships and sharing Christ with those around them. Ask also for God’s protection and strength in their daily ministry and family life.

  3. Give thanks for God’s faithfulness in H & P’s ministry. Pray for the youth summer camp and outreach, that parents and students would be open to the gospel. Ask God to bless the upcoming cross-cultural training and equip all participants. During the break in regular classes, pray that they can maintain meaningful connections with students. Also pray for strength and health amid the intense heat.

  4. Give thanks for God’s faithful provision and growth in the Sri Lankan Chinese Church, especially the rising number of children and new believers. Pray for Rev. Janet’s health and rest, that God would continue to strengthen her physically and sustain her in ministry. Ask the Lord to guide the church’s ongoing development, giving wisdom to leaders as they establish structures and discipleship, and to bring more workers into the harvest field.

  5. Give thanks for God’s grace in bringing H & Y safely through their recent transitions and into a new season in Australia. Pray for God’s guidance as they settle, pursue training, and seek suitable work to support their ministry. Continue to pray for the people and churches in their former field, that the gospel would advance despite challenges, and that many would turn to Christ.

  6. Prayer for Nic Yao: Give thanks for the fruitful outreach on campus and for new students coming to faith and growing in Christ. Pray that these students would continue to be grounded in the gospel and bold in sharing their faith. Ask God to sustain Nic in his ministry and provide for his financial needs.
