1. A warm welcome to everyone who joined us this morning. We are delighted to see you all.

2. AGM on 27/07: We thank the Lord for His grace in allowing the 24th AGM and the 13th Deacon Election to proceed smoothly. All agenda items were passed, and the new deacons were successfully elected. The elected deacons are Daisy Pun, Tina Wong, Cassandra Lee, and Anshun Wong. Thank you all for your participation and voting. The new deacons will begin their term on 1 September. May the Lord personally guide and lead them to serve faithfully and humbly with one heart and mind, according to His will, building a healthy church that is pleasing to Him.

3. Special General Meeting: To be held on Sunday, 31 August at 12:30pm. That day will be a combined worship service, and the Special General Meeting will begin immediately after the service concludes. We earnestly ask all members to reserve time to attend and vote on the Church Constitution Update.

Notices have been sent today via email, post, or in-person distribution. From 18 August onwards, members may contact the Returning Officer to check their eligibility to vote (i.e. attendance rate must exceed 50% over the past 52 weeks).

If you are unable to attend the Special General Meeting on the day, you may authorise another eligible member (whose attendance rate is also over 50%) to attend and vote on your behalf. Please fill out the proxy form enclosed with the notice and submit it to the church in person, by post, or by emailing a PDF copy to hwc@holywordchurch.org.nz no later than 12:30pm on 30 August. Proxy forms received after this deadline will be considered invalid.

If members wish to better understand the updated constitution, you are invited to attend a Family Forum on Saturday, 16 August at 10:30am. If you have any questions or comments regarding the constitution, please email them in writing to hwc@holywordchurch.org.nz by 15 August, so that they can be addressed at the forum.

Due to time constraints, there will be no Q&A session on the day of the Special General Meeting.

Please uphold this meeting in prayer, asking the Lord to graciously guide and bless its proceedings.

4. Mission Department: Following the decision to incorporate overseas mission (M4) giving into the church’s accounts, the giving method has been adjusted. For more details, please refer to the link below. If you have any questions, please contact Tony Yeung.

Giving

Let us remember the joy of giving and the blessings it brings to both the giver and the receiver. Tithe offering is a duty of all Christians. By giving, we honour God and fulfill His work through our church. May God bless the offering we willingly give. For more details on how you can give, please visit our church website: https://holywordchurch.org.nz/en/giving.

Prayer Items

  • Give thanks for the risen Christ who enters our fears and failures with peace. Pray that we would receive His grace, be shaped by His wounds, and be empowered by His Spirit to live out the gospel and extend forgiveness.

  • Pray that God would stir our hearts for His mission—both near and far. Ask that our church would grow in compassion, courage, and clarity as we consider how to participate in His global and local work.

  • Give thanks for those willing to serve. Pray that our new deacons would lead with humility, wisdom, and unity. Ask that the Spirit would strengthen them to serve joyfully and shepherd the church well in the coming term.
