Announcements
A warm welcome to everyone who joined us this morning. We are delighted to see you all.
57th Baptism will be held on 20/04 as a combined service for all three congregations. For those who want to be baptised, please contact any Deacon, Pastor or your Small Group Leader. The deadline is 09/03. All baptism applicants are required to have their nurturing course completed. Once an application is received, baptism class will be arranged and the deacons will meet with you to confirm your faith. Please also contact us if you would like to have your church membership transferred to HWC or would like to have child dedication.
Children's Sunday School - Children's Sunday School will resume on March 2nd, from 10:45 AM to 12:00 PM. The program is designed for children aged 3 to 11 years old. Parents with children joining this year, if your child has not been registered before or if any information needs to be updated, please contact Emily Tsang. She will be available to assist parents every Sunday in February from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM in the kitchen of the new building.
We are also looking for helpers to assist with children aged 3 to 7 years old. If you enjoy caring for children and are willing to serve in this ministry, please contact Emily for more details.
Small Groups Launch – Our Small Groups will officially launch today during TNT time. All groups will gather together for this special session. We encourage everyone to come and be part of this time of fellowship and commitment to growing in Christ together.
Aspire Together 2025: Thank you to everyone who participated in Part 2 of our Aspire Together workshop last week! Next Sunday (02/03), we will be holding the third and final session. This workshop will focus on refining and prioritising the aspirations and ideas we explored together. We encourage you to join us as we take the next step forward. We look forward to seeing you there!
For those who would like to revisit the presentation and the six aspiration examples we discussed, please see the following link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/17CaqNF9vd3HrSDd8szCthTWBSjI435FE?usp=sharing.
Community Service: On Saturday 8 March from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, an electronic waste recycling company will collect electronic parts in any condition in the church carpark. No fee will be charged to our church members.
Mission News
Pray for the Missions Goals of All Three Congregations: Pray that each congregation embraces the Great Commission in the new year, focusing not only on local outreach but also on the needs of missionaries and the gospel's reach to distant places. May the gospel be proclaimed to the ends of the earth!
S & C: Praise God for the successful Christmas event—a grand banquet with 30 tables—where families enjoyed a life education gathering centered on family happiness. Give thanks for the home group members who are now supporting a couple to evangelize in other towns.
H & P: Praise God for the opportunity during Christmas to share the story of Jesus' birth and His love at a public school with 1,600 students and teachers, despite the school's Buddhist background. Give thanks for His protection during a car accident that left their vehicle severely damaged. Pray for H’s continued recovery and the smooth handling of post-accident procedures.
Reverend Janet Tam: After a busy Christmas period, she is now preparing to release a long-anticipated gospel booklet in English and Sinhala. Pray for its impact. She is also planning to establish the first Chinese children’s and youth orchestra in the area as a tool for musical discipleship and pre-evangelism. Pray for God’s guidance.
H & Y: Serving in a remote Islamic area as international students, they are protected by their academic excellence and support from their teachers despite suspicions about their purpose. Pray for provision amidst rising living costs and rent increases. Remember them as their visas expire in March and they need renewal. Pray for protection as two colleagues were deported last year.
Pastor James & Jessica Che: Pray for their ministry and health as they return to serve in New Zealand.
Nicholas Yao: Pray for strength and guidance as he transitions to ministry in Wellington after the summer. May God help him adapt quickly to the new environment.
Prayer Items
Pray for Our Church Leaders – Lift up our pastors and deacons, especially as we seek God’s guidance in the recruitment of a senior pastor. Pray for wisdom, unity, and discernment in this important process.
Pray for Children’s Sunday School – Ask for God’s blessing over the preparation of this year’s Children’s Sunday School. Pray for dedicated teachers, engaged children, and a strong foundation in God’s Word.
Pray for Small Group Launch – As we begin our Small Groups this year, pray that they will be a place of growth, encouragement, and deep fellowship in Christ.
Pray for the Message – May we be reminded that God has entrusted each of us with gifts and resources. Pray that we will be faithful stewards, using what He has given us for His glory and the blessing of others.
