  1. A warm welcome to everyone who joined us this morning. We are delighted to see you all.

  2. The 29th Anniversary Thanksgiving Combined Service will take place next Sunday at 10am. Prayer meeting will commence at 8:30am. Bring your headphones to listen to English translation on the Telegram mobile app.

  3. Candidates for next term’s Deacon Board — The Deacon Nomination Committee had sent invitations to 29 qualified individuals from our three congregations. After prayer, six nominees accepted the nomination as candidates for deacons. The nominees are Daisy Pun, Cassandra Lee, Tony Yeung, and Anshun Wong from the Cantonese congregation; Sally Che and Emily Tsang from the English congregation. If any brothers or sisters have any opinions regarding the above candidates, please contact Kenneth Fong of the Deacon Nomination Committee by email or letter.   4. Herman, our pastoral intern, is graduating from his theology studies. We are welcome to come to his graduation ceremony and celebrate with him. It is this Saturday (20 May), 2pm at Manukau City Baptist Church, 9 Lambie Drive, Manukau.

  5. TNT: Pastor ET is teaching a TNT on the topic of Christian Values. We will be discussing topics like church, family, money and many others. Please join us for this journey of faith and discovery. The course note is available here.

  6. Finance department had sent out the donation receipts for the 2022-2023 financial year to members via email. The receipts may potentially be sorted into spam mail, so please check for them. For those who have not registered their email addresses, please contact Jenny Ip to request for the receipt. If there are any issues with the receipt, please contact the Finance Department.

Mission News

  1. Praise the Lord! All speakers of this year’s August Mission Month are pastors from the Holy Word Church. May the Lord use the pastors and encourage the mission heart of the congregation.

  2. S&C are busy organizing Summer holiday program in July, as well as looking after and pastoring the church, may the Lord strengthen them.

  3. H&P have begun teaching in the newly established Mission Hut. Several students are still in the process of VISA application. Please pray for their applications.

  4. Pastor Janet Tam had meetings with two new believers last week. Please pray for the new believers’ faith, and pray for Pastor Janet’s follow up meetings.

  5. Pray for Pastor James Che and Jessica’s ministry in Tanzania. May the Lord add to their numbers daily.


Prayer Items for the Week

  1. Pray for the Evangelism Department's Friendship Evangelistic Visitation Programme. Pray that the Lord would use brothers and sisters to reach out to their families and friends and relatives in their efforts to spread the Gospel.

  2. Pray for those who are willing to accept deacon candidacy nominations as well as those who are not ready to be nominated yet, that the Lord would give them strength for future ministry in the church.

  3. Pray for the gospel needs of the North Shore as more Cantonese-speaking people move there. The mission fields are vast, let's seek God's guidance together and help us see what is needed.

  4. Pray for everyone to strive to practice the theme of the year,: Love as He Loved • Love with His Love.

  5. Pray for everyone’s physical and spiritual health. The weather is also getting colder so may God strengthen our body against the flu.
