A warm welcome to everyone who joined us this morning. We are delighted to see you all.
Building Maintenance Team The Church Building Maintenance Team has now been established. The team members are Dallen Chan, Shirley Ho, and Liz Ma from the English congregation; Ali Chen, Joey Lin, and Steven Zhou from the Mandarin congregation; and Tony To from the Cantonese congregation. The team will go through the maintenance items as per the inspection report, and provide professional advice to the Deacon Board according to needs and urgency.
Sri Lanka Short-term mission trip sharing. The short-term mission team to Sri Lanka looks forward to sharing with you their stories and the abundant grace of the Lord in it. Date: Sunday 7th May 1:15-2:30 pm; Location: Upstairs Hall. Please bring your own lunch. Before the meeting, we will also share some snacks and Ceylon black tea from Sri Lanka with everyone.
TNT: Pastor ET is teaching a TNT on the topic of Christian Values. We will be discussing topics like church, family, money and many others. Please join us for this journey of faith and discovery. The course note is available here.
Finance department had sent out the donation receipts for the 2022-2023 financial year to members via email this week. The receipts may potentially be sorted into spam mail, so please check for them. For those who have not registered their email addresses, please contact Jenny Ip to request for the receipt. If there are any issues with the receipt, please contact the Finance Department.
Mission News
Please pray for the preparation for August Mission Month. May the Lord use Holy Word Church as an evangelistic church.
S&C will return to New Zealand in July. May the Lord keep them safe in their journey, and their ministry may continue in their absence.
H is busy teaching in the newly established Mission Hut, while P takes intensive language course on top of looking after their children. May the Lord strengthen them.
Praise the Lord! Pastor Janet Tam’s work VISA is successfully extended to April 2024. Please pray for her health and well-being.
Pray for Pastor James Che and Jessica’s ministry in Tanzania. May the Lord add to their numbers daily.
Prayer Items for the Week
Pray for the Evangelism Department's Friendship Evangelistic Visitation Programme. Pray that the Lord would use brothers and sisters to reach out to their families and friends and relatives in their efforts to spread the Gospel.
Pray for those who are willing to accept deacon candidacy nominations as well as those who are not ready to be nominated yet, that the Lord would give them strength for future ministry in the church.
Pray for the gospel needs of the North Shore as more Cantonese-speaking people move there. The mission fields are vast, let's seek God's guidance together and help us see what is needed.
Pray for everyone to strive to practice the theme of the year,: Love as He Loved • Love with His Love.
Pray for everyone’s physical and spiritual health. The weather is also getting colder so may God strengthen our body against the flu.
