Giving

Let us remember the joy of giving and the blessings it brings to both the giver and the receiver. Tithe offering is a duty of all Christians. By giving, we honour God and fulfill His work through our church. May God bless the offering we willingly give. For more details on how you can give, please visit our church website: https://holywordchurch.org.nz/en/giving.

Mission News

  1. Please pray for Mission Month responses: Thank the Lord for the brothers and sisters who have already submitted their response forms and given in faith. Pray that God would continue to move more people to participate wholeheartedly in mission work, responding in faith to His call and joining Him in advancing His kingdom.

  2. Please pray for S & C: Ask the Lord to grant them wisdom and strength as they shepherd local leaders and coworkers. Remember their children—their daughter studying in New Zealand while living with her grandparents, and their son continuing his education in the mission field. Pray that God would watch over them and guide their growth. Also pray that as S & C serve, they may be surrounded by God’s love and presence, and find His support and strength especially in times of loneliness.

  3. H & P have returned to the mission field to continue the unfinished work. Pray that the Lord will bless the new term of the community Chinese and English classes, as well as the Chinese course at the university activity center, using these opportunities to build connections with more children and students. Also pray that through the upcoming Mission Day on September 21, the Lord will raise up brothers and sisters in the church to join together in the work of evangelism and cross-cultural mission.

  4. Please pray for Pastor Janet Tam: Her ministry schedule in the second half of the year is very full, including the Chinese church baptism in October, attending the 50th anniversary celebration of CBF in Thailand, returning to Hong Kong for ministry, and preparing for Christmas caroling in shopping malls in December. Pray that the Lord will grant her sufficient rest, wisdom, and strength to manage her time well and serve faithfully. Give thanks for the Chinese church, which has recently welcomed many new friends to the services. Pray that the Lord will continue to add to the number of those being saved, that more people may put their trust in Christ.

  5. Please pray for H & Y: Thank the Lord for giving them patience in the midst of difficulties, and pray that He would open the hearts of local young people so that they may know the truth through studying the Bible. Pray also for those facing challenges with school and their future, that the Lord would guide and strengthen their faith. Pray that God would open the hearts of families and women to receive the gospel, remember the needs of the church and refugee communities, and bless the health and well-being of the workers as well as the upcoming gatherings.

  6. Please pray for Nic Yao: Pray for God’s healing hand upon his recurring cough so that he may serve with strength and endurance. Also pray for the upcoming Taiwan mission trip — that God would provide all the needed funds and prepare the hearts of the team and those they will meet, so that the gospel may be powerfully proclaimed.

Prayer Items

  • For the Message this morning: Ask that God would help us see the seriousness of sin, the damage it causes in our relationship with Him and with others, and to receive with faith the hope of restoration He provides through His grace.
