Bible Reading Plan
We would like to invite you to join our monthly Bible reading plan community on YouVersion. Our aim is to encourage us to read, study and meditate the Word of God together. We are starting a new plan called “Preparing Our Hearts for Easter: A Lenten Devotional” today. This aim to prepare us for the anticipation of the life of Christ conquering the darkness of sin and death through His resurrection. Through this 40 days, we are reminded of the reality of our frailty and God’s redeeming grace. If you already have a YouVersion account, you can join by clicking this link. If you have any questions, please read this step-by-step guide or email Pastor ET @ et.wong@holywordchurch.org.nz.
Mission Information
The mission department has decided to postpone the Sri Lanka short term mission trip to November this year as a precautionary measure due to the coronavirus.
The 24 April to 23 May is the Muslim Ramadan (fasting month), we want to encourage brothers and sisters to pray for Muslims and remember their need for the Gospel. More details to come.
Remember S&C in your prayers as they are unable to return to the mission field due to coronavirus. While their school is still closed, they have a strong desire to be with their co-workers to support them during this time. Pray for God’s provision and protection for their family.
H&P have returned to NZ and have completed their home isolation. We are now arranging a time for them to share their mission journey with us. They originally planned to return to the mission field in April, but the timeline is now uncertain.
Please support Smile Lanka, a school in Hambantota, Sri Lanka. In view of this ministry needing financial support, our church has decided to fundraise NZD3,000 to support their ministry. Please continue to donate to our overseas mission fund (M4).,
