A very warm welcome to everyone who's visiting us for the first time this morning. We are delighted to have you here.
We won’t be serving morning tea temporarily due to the threat of Coronavirus. But please feel free to stay behind and enjoy a time of fellowship.
50th Baptism: It will be held on 12/4. If you are keen to please apply to Pastors or deacons. The closing date is 15/3. All the applicants have to finish the nurturing course. Application is also open for child dedication and membership of the church.
26th Anniversary Combined Service: it will be held 17/5. The Music department of the Cantonese Service would like to invite brothers and sisters from the 3 congregations to participate in a combined choir. Please register at the usher if you are interested. The closing date is 1/3. The conductor will arrange an audition for you to see if you meet the standard. The practice time is every Saturday, from 4/4 to 16/5, at 4:30 pm at church. Please contact Cindy Chiu or Kevin Lee for more details.
Door to Door Ministry: It is on hold due to the threat of Coronavirus until further notice. Please continue to pray for this ministry.
Children Sunday School
(A) will resume on 1 March. Parents may start enrolling their children in the classroom upstairs after the English Service today or next Sunday.
(B) the opening ceremony starts at 10:15 at the upper hall on 1 March. We also celebrate with those graduates who are joining the English congregation this year. We invite all parents, children and everyone who wants to know more about Children Sunday School to come.
(C) Precautionary Measures for Coronavirus: We would like to remind the parents to pay close attention to the health condition of your children. If your children are unwell, please refrain from bringing them to Children Sunday School, so that they can stay home and rest. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
Sri Lanka mission trip: A 10-day mission trip from 6/5 to 15/5/2020 including sharing of testimonies in English or Mandarin, evangelistic meetings, worship, leading in children music, assisting with medical examinations of the local children, and more. We are currently recruiting mission team members, with priority given to medical professionals. Proficiency in English and Mandarin is desirable. Please sign up at usher's desk or email to mission@holywordchurch.org.nz if you have any enquiries. The closing date is 23/2/2020.
Brother Chris Lee (李松年), a brother who was baptised last year after our visitation team preaching the gospel to him in his rest home, has returned to the Lord on 15/02 Saturday 12:30 pm at Ambridge Rose Manor. His family had prepared a simple funeral service. Pray that God would comfort his family.

Pray for S&C mission plan as it has been impacted by the Coronavirus
James Che and Jessica returned to Tanzania. May God continue to keep James’ health as well as the fund-raising for building a Christian educational institution for evangelism.
Please support Smile Lanka, a school in Hambantota, Sri Lanka. In view of this ministry desperately needing financial support, our church has decided to fundraise NZD3,000 to support their ministry. Please continue to offer to our overseas mission fund (M4).,
Prayer Items for the Week
Please pray for pastoral recruitment for the Cantonese and English services, as well as the visa application process of the newly recruited pastor for the Cantonese service.
H&P will be returning to New Zealand at the end of February, please pray for their safe journey.
Please pray for the planning for Sir Lanka short term mission trip, a meeting will be held in the coming Friday 28/02.
The Hambantota Smile Lanka School ministry financial budget report shows that the school would need more funding for their daily operation. The Church has decided to donate $3,000.00 to assist this project. Please continue to support M4 mission financially.
