Giving

Let us remember the joy of giving and the blessings it brings to both the giver and the receiver. Tithe offering is a duty of all Christians. By giving, we honour God and fulfill His work through our church. May God bless the offering we willingly give. For more details on how you can give, please visit our church website: https://holywordchurch.org.nz/en/giving.

Mission News

  1. Pray for the recruitment of the Sri Lanka short-term mission team: Ask the Lord to move and call the right brothers and sisters to take a step of faith in responding to His mission and prepare their hearts to join in His work. Pray also for God’s guidance over the recruitment and preparation process, that everything will go smoothly and become a blessing both to the local churches and to our own church.

  2. Please pray for S & C: Ask the Lord to help them maintain healthy routines and meals amidst their busy schedule, and to find time for exercise, especially during the long winter months. Pray for their physical and mental well-being, improved sleep, and renewed strength and energy for ministry.

  3. Pray for H & P: Give thanks for God’s guidance as they have returned safely to the mission field and for new doors of ministry opening among local communities and young coworkers. Pray for the Lord’s continued leading. Remember the students in the community language classes and University Activity Centre, the Mission Home trainees in preparation, and H’s preaching this month—that God would use them and grant fitting words for His work.

  4. Please pray for Reverend Janet Tam: Give thanks for improved sleep and ask the Lord to sustain her health and strengthen her for ministry. In October, she will travel to Thailand and Hong Kong for the 50th CEM anniversary and preach in Hong Kong on the 19th—pray for a safe journey and God’s anointing on her preaching. Pray for the Chinese Church in Sri Lanka: that the sister serving as children’s ministry teacher would be strengthened, that more people would come to faith, and that new friends’ hearts would be opened to the truth. The baptisms, membership reception, and children dedication on October 5 have been successfully conducted. May the Lord continue to bless all those who were baptized, received into membership, and dedicated, along with their families.

  5. Please pray for H & Y: They attended the Mission Field Workers’ gathering in September. Pray for God’s protection over their travel, a smooth and fruitful gathering, and wisdom to apply what they learned. Ask the Lord to provide for their needs and guide them safely back to the mission field, continuing to bless their ministry and bring spiritual fruit.

  6. Please pray for Nic Yao. Thank God for the new believers on campus and for His ongoing work among students. Pray for the upcoming Taiwan mission trip, that the gospel will bear lasting fruit. Give thanks for Nic’s improved health and ask that it continues. As many student leaders graduate, pray for God to raise new leaders to carry on the campus ministry.

Prayer Items

  • Pray that God will use today’s message to remind us that in Christ we are free, justified by faith, and led by the Spirit. May we live out this new identity with confidence and joy.

  • Pray for our missionaries — that God will strengthen, protect, and guide them. May He also stir more hearts in our church to pray, give, and go for His mission.
