  2. Committee on Duty: Daniel Ho

  3. Mission Pledge: This year the Mission Department aims to donate $29,000 to overseas missionaries (M4) and is accepting mission pledges from brothers and sisters. Mission Pledge can be made either by filling in the pledge cards at the ushers’ desk or through our website www.holywordchurch.org.nz/mission-pledge. Contributions on pledged amounts should be made by March 2023. Please note that M4 donations are not eligible for tax refunds.

  4. “Go” Gospel Evangelism Campaign: Cantonese Congregation decides to support “Go” Prayer Month campaign which is promoted by NZEECM. May all brothers and sisters participate in praying on 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th Nov for non-believers around the World to have opportunities to listen to gospels. Please also pray for dedicated believers and missionaries to preach the gospel. Brothers & sisters interested in participating can register with Fiona Lee on or before 4th Nov. NZEEC will send out prayers to participants for reference.

  5. General Department: Toys are stored in the storage recently. May all brothers and sisters please notify the General Department before leaving items at church. Due to pandemic and hygiene reasons, the Church is temporarily unable to provide toys for children to play with. Please take the toys back before 6th Nov, otherwise, the General Department will handle them. Thank you for your co-operation.

  6. First Aid Registration: Putting health and safety into consideration, the Church is looking for first aiders with qualified first-aid certificate. Please get in touch with Stanley to get registered.

  7. Community Services: The Church will hold a nursing seminar on Saturday, 5th Nov between 10am to 12pm. The topic is “It’s a treasure to have an elder in a family”. It is about the rights and protection of elderly. The speaker is Ms Ren Wang who is from Age Concerns. Brothers and sisters are encouraged to invite relatives, friends, neighbours, colleages. For enquiries, please contact Fanny Yeung. The seminar is conducted in Cantonese.

  8. Brother Ronald Mak has passed away last Friday 28 Oct. Please pray for their family and may God look after and comfort his family.


Mission News

  1. The Mission Department will be raising funds for missionaries. Please pray for the heart of mission of brothers and sisters. It is encouraged that the tax rebate obtained from the donations to church may be used to support M4 mission.

  2. Pray for the “North Shore mission”. May God prepare Holy Word Church to become an Antioch Church 2.0 that embraces mission.

  3. Pray for the missionaries: S’s eyes are itchy and red without reasons recently, may the Lord cure S. H&P’s are teaching an online missionary course, Pastor Janet Tam’s mission work in South Sri Lanka, and Pastor James and his wife’s ministry in Tanzania and Fiji.

  4. Pray for the Tanzanian Chinese Church for purchasing the land of their church building. May the Lord prepare and provide for the church.

  1. Pray for our new Cantonese pastor so that everything will be well arranged for her to start her pastoral role soon.

  2. The Church Theme for the next two years is: Love as He Loved • Love with His Love. May we focus and act on this theme in our daily lifes to love one another.

  3. Pray for pastoral recruitment for the Senior Pastor and English Service Pastor.

  4. Psalm reading plan has finished. May God give us the determination to continue the reading and let us learn about Him more deeply so we will worship and praise Him more.
