  4. Our church is hosting a series of events to celebrate our 25th Anniversary:

    1. 25th Anniversary Combined Service will be held on 19th May at 10 am. The ordination ceremony for Pastor ET will be held on the same day.

    2. Praise Event: Date: 19th May. Time:  3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Place: Church (2 Basalt Place)

    3. Church anniversary celebration dinner: 19th May night, will be hosted at Imperial Palace in Mt Wellington. It will be free for all children age 0-4. From age 5-10, $10; 11 or above, $20. Seats are limited, please register at the ushers’ desk TODAY. Please pay the dinner cost to Simon Tong.

  5. The Cantonese Service will hold a Mother's Day Sunday Worship on May 12th at 10:45 am. Brothers and sisters may invite their Cantonese speaking family to learn about the Gospel. Each guest will receive a gift after the service. Invitation cards are available on the ushers’ desk .

  6. Pastor Tony Yeung’s eye surgery had been postponed to 10 May. Please pray that it will go smoothly with God’s protection.

Mission News 

  1. Remember the ministry of S&C. They are experiencing stressful circumstances. Please pray for the peace of the family.

  2. J&P will be preaching at our church on 2nd June. Their mission work will commence in July this year. Their first year of expenses is expected to be $89,000, and they have already fund-raised 75% of it. Pray for God’s providence and their organization of visas, body checks, childcare, etc.

  3. Pray for Pastor Janet Tam’s ministries. Pray for the victims of the terrorist attack, may the Lord comfort and heal the injured, and give strength to the medical personnels. The government has asked the church not to hold any services over this weekend. Please pray for the hearts of the Christians.

  4. James Che and his wife is currently on leave. They will be visiting churches in the Creative Access Areas (These are areas where it is not possible for a foreign missionary to get a visa and church activities are greatly restricted.) They will be returning to NZ at the end of May to visit and rest.

  5. Vanuatu Short-term Mission Trip (4/06-12/06): Grace Gutry, KK Fong and Fion Fong will be joining this mission trip. HWC and they themselves will equally share two third of the travelling cost, the rest will need to be covered by fund raising. A special offering box will be available on the usher’s desk for anyone who would like to support them.

  6. Pray for Pastor Tony Yeung, who has taken up the role to lead the Mission department. And pray for the department’s future development.

Prayer Items for the Week

  1. Pray for the nominated deacon candidates. May God choose his faithful servants according to his will.

  2. Pray for the church expansion executive team and the contractor. May God keep the construction safe and give us one heart and one vision to complete the project.

  3. Our church is approaching our 25th Anniversary, Let’s give our thanksgiving to our Lord and pray that God will bless us with more wisdom in the coming years to do more for the Kingdom of God.

  5. Our church is hosting a series of events to celebrate our 25th Anniversary:

    1. Photos Display: We are encouraging brothers and sisters to submit any photos regarding any memories that they have in relation to the church for the past 25 years.  We will be compiling all the photos and make a display in the church. Please contact Nixon Fong or Simon Tong for more details.

    2. Praise Event: Date: 19th May. Time:  3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. We are welcoming any individuals, groups, fellowships to participate in performing a hymn or music as a praise offering to our God. Each congregation has a limit of 7 performance in total. Application deadline: 28th April.
