Overseas Mission and Hardship Fund: We have received a total of $2,410.00 offerings for overseas mission in Feb/Mar 2019. Previously the account balance was $1,798.11. For the hardship account the account balance is currently $4,150.11.
Tax receipts this year will be distributed via email in May. Please provide your email address on the form at the ushers’ desk by 28 April.
Our church is hosting a series of events to celebrate our 25th Anniversary:
Photos Display: We are encouraging brothers and sisters to submit any photos regarding any memories that they have in relation to the church for the past 25 years. We will be compiling all the photos and make a display in the church. Please contact Nixon Fong or Simon Tong for more details.
Praise Event: Date: 19th May. Time: 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. We are welcoming any individuals, groups, fellowships to participate in performing a hymn or music as a praise offering to our God. Each congregation has a limit of 7 performance in total. Application deadline: 28th April.
Church anniversary celebration dinner: 19th May night, will be hosted at Imperial Palace at Mt Wellington. It will be free for all children age 0-4. From age 5-10, $10; 11 or above, $20. Seats are limited, please register as soon as possible. Participants must attend to church meetings.
Deacon Board Nominees: The deacon board nomination committee has received acceptances from the upcoming deacon board nominees. The nominees are: Franklin Fung, Wynne Wong, Liz Ma, Amy Yeung and Coleman Lam. If you would like to provide any feedback to the deacon board nomination committee, you may provide written feedback to Pastor Tony Yeung of the nomination committee by 21 April.
Mission News
Remember the ministry of S&C. They have a lot on their plates, but have to stay very low key. They are preparing a plan for the summer. Please pray for the peace of the family.
Pray for J&P as they prepare for their mission work to commence in July this year. Their first year of expenses is expected to be $89,000, and they have already fund-raised 75% of it. Pray for God’s providence and their organization of visas, body checks, childcare, etc.
Pray for Pastor Janet Tam’s ministries. Please for her quality of sleep. Her church has recently upgraded their sound system to improve on their worship quality. The children recorder and singing competition has received great responses. It allows the children to practice more and learn to worship God. Please continue to remember them in your prayers.
Pray for James Che and his wife for their ministry in Africa. Praise the Lord for the good feedback from the parents on the children Chinese classes. Please pray for the lack of co-workers and ask God to raise up more people to serve Him. This Sunday there are 4 believers getting baptised. Please pray for the spiritual growth. The April newsletter from James is posted on the Mission notice board.
Pray for the theme of the August mission month “A Life of Mission”. May this revive our heart for mission.
Prayer Items for the Week
Pray for the nominated deacon candidates. May God choose his faithful servants according to his will.
Pray for the church expansion executive team and the contractor. May God keep the construction safe and give us one heart and one vision to complete the project.
Our church is approaching our 25th Anniversary, Let’s give our thanksgiving to our Lord and pray that God will bless us with more wisdom in the coming years to do more for the Kingdom of God.
Pray for the members who have been baptized in the 48th Baptism Ceremony. May God guard their hearts so that they may continue to witness for Christ.
