Announcements

A warm welcome to everyone who's joining us for the first time this morning. We are delighted to have you here.

  1. HWC Arrangements under various Covid-19 Alert Levels:

Please refer to the link below for the arrangements of Holy Word Church meetings at different COVID-19 alert levels.

    https://holywordchurch.org.nz/en/covid19

The deacon board has decided that we will only restart in-person Sunday service at Covid-19 Alert Level 1. We will continue to keep track of attendance to online services.

  2. Church Camp: The camp committee had a meeting and decided that under the current COVID circumstances, summer camp this year will be cancelled and postponed to a later date next year.

  3. Equip conference 2022 has been cancelled due to the current restrictions that are in place around NZ due to COVID-19.

  4. A new position for Church Administrator (Digital Support & Community Service) has been proposed by the Deacon Board to primarily manage and update the digital systems of the church. The demand for digital support in the church has been realised in view of the current communications and meetings conducted in multi-media format, including online worship services, church website, and Facebook platforms. Members serving in the audiovisual roles to enable online services across the three congregations, often with a full-time job, have been especially stretched. This new position is set up to fulfill the digital support needs, in addition to the coordination and execution of community services as part of the church’s outreach ministries. Full details of the job description can be found via this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1c9fN_2ZePwl7houkSt3n3a6jr-5FPvP5/view

  6. Sister Sova Lak 華姨 now resides in Lansdowne Rest Home in Howick. Please pray that she can have a smooth adaptation to the lifestyle and pray for her family.

Mission News

  1. Praise God that we have arise the target amount to support our missionaries. The transfer will be made at the end of this month to the missionaries as a Christmas gift. Pray that God provides them the support they need.

  2. Remember S&C in your prayers. Thank God that in this situation, they have been fruitful and saved two souls. May God strengthen the new believer’s heart and protect them. Pray for the other 10 co-workers, and that S&C will have the wisdom to shepherd them.

  3. Pray that God will lead H&P in their serving and provide them direction. Provide them a stable ground so that they listen and act in God’s will. The church has invited them to share their testimony on 9/1/2022 and may God continue to lead this arrangement.

  4. Sri Lanka had lifted the lockdown restriction as the COVID situation has improved. Rev Janet Tam is preparing for in-person worship at the church she is serving. Pray that God will give all members peace and comfort, and to help and heal those that are weak.

  5. Remember James and Jessica’s ministry in Tanzania. Pray for their Missionary Visa application and that God will guide the application to proceed successfully.

Prayer Items for the Week

  1. Pray that we will continue to reflect on ourselves as suggested by Rev. ET’s teaching today: “Am I obeying and honoring God in different areas of my life?"

  2. The church has decided not to gather physically before alert Level 1. Continue to pray for those who are impacted by the lockdown.

  3. Pray for pastoral recruitment for the Senior Pastor, English Service Pastor and Mandarin Service Pastor.

  4. A new pastor has been hired for the Cantonese service. Please pray for her work visa application. May God give her peace in her wait.
