Giving
Let us remember the joy of giving and the blessings it brings to both the giver and the receiver. Tithe offering is a duty of all Christians. By giving, we honour God and fulfill His work through our church. May God bless the offering we willingly give. For more details on how you can give, please visit our church website: https://holywordchurch.org.nz/en/giving.
Mission News
Please remember S & C in prayer for their physical, emotional, and spiritual health, as this year’s ministry workload has been especially heavy—may the Lord strengthen them. Pray also for their eldest daughter Eva and their son Elias, for their learning and growth, and that the Lord would guide them.
H & P – In April, they conducted a student survey through the activity centre they rented, and over a hundred university students have responded. Pray that the Lord would grant wisdom to H & P and their coworkers as they serve these students. The third phase of their Mission Home course is currently underway—pray that it will proceed smoothly for all participants.
Give thanks that Pastor Janet Tam has received a short-term visa and can now visit her son, daughter, and grandson in Australia.
H & Y – They are undergoing an intense language learning programme while also caring for the spiritual needs of many seekers. Pray for the seekers living in a Muslim context, that the Lord would show them Jesus and grant them true understanding.
Please pray for James Che, who is currently in New Zealand. May he be physically and spiritually refreshed for future ministry, and may God bless his efforts as he also supports his wife in expanding God's kingdom. Pray for their service, their handiwork, and their health.
Pray for Nicholas Yao and the students he is engaging with at the university. May the Lord open the hearts and eyes of these students so that they may come to know Jesus. Also remember the believers who have been established in faith—may the Lord continue to strengthen their trust in Him.
Prayer Items
Praise God for the church’s 31st anniversary and the senior pastor inauguration today. Pray that God will give Pastor ET wisdom and strength as he becomes our new Senior Pastor. Ask God to help him lead our congregations in unity and grow God’s work among us.
Pray that God will choose and strengthen the right people to serve as deacons. Ask that they love God, get along well with others, and serve the church with a humble and unified heart.
Please pray for the brothers and sisters of the North Shore Cantonese Worship. May the Lord keep them growing healthily in Him, and may He send workers to serve in the North Shore to build up the body of Christ.
May the Lord strengthen those who are ill or physically weak, and be their refuge. We pray that the Lord grants them peace, provides appropriate medical care, and gives them strength in body, mind, and spirit to face the challenges of each day.
Please pray for the wars around the world—including the Russia-Ukraine war, the Israel-Hamas conflict, and the India-Pakistan tensions. May God move the hearts of all leaders to pursue peace and seek the path of reconciliation, putting an end to the destruction and suffering caused by war. Pray also that the Lord would comfort civilians whose lives have been devastated by conflict, granting them strength and hope.
