Election of the 11th Deacon Board will be held in the upcoming the 19th AGM. There are 11 deacon nominees:
Joey Lin, Jeff Wei, Sean Wang, Sally Che, Tony Yeung, KC Li, KK Fong, Cassandra Lee, Selina Mak, Wynne Yum and Jenny Ip.
Sister Jia Li has withdrawn her deacon nomination and decided to dedicate her time to serve in the Mandarin Congregation Committee and Children Sunday School.
In the upcoming election, all active members will have maximum of 8 votes. To be elected as deacon, the nominees would need to have support from over 50% of the voting members. The 8 nominees who received the most votes will become the deacons for the coming two years. For the purpose of introducing the nominees to the members, a personal profile of each of the nominees will be posted on the notice board in the kitchen this week.“3 Strands” is a group for women to come together to support, to encourage, to build up and to be heard in our journey with God. We are excited to have our first gathering later this month and would like to invite you to join us.

Venue: HWC new buildingChurch Camp: We are excited to announce that the church camp this year will be held at the Peter Snell Youth Campsite from Friday 3rd December to Sunday 5th December. Put it in your calendars and diaries and more information on the theme and registration will be coming out shortly. Please pray for the camp theme development process, that the theme developed would be applicable to us and our hearts can be engaged to respond to the work of the Holy Spirit.
Evangelistic Event: Cantonese Service has invited Mary Cheung (a former actress in Hong Kong) to share her testimony and the gospel on the 16th July at 7:30pm at our church. The event will be conducted in Cantonese. Please feel free to invite anyone who may be interested. See poster for more detail.
Baby Room: The blinds have been badly damaged and have to be used with caution. Children in the baby room should not be allowed to operate the blinds, parents please supervise the children while they are in the room to avoid accidents.
Mission Information
Pray for our M4 missionary support, this M4 missionary support target for the coming year is $24,000. If the target is exceeded we will look to support additional missionaries to go into the mission field in muslim countries.
Pray for the August Mission Month - the theme will be “Perspectives on Mission”. This Mission Month aims to, through an increased understanding of how the pandemic impacts on M1-M4, rekindle the church’s passion for mission, such that we all can creatively respond to every opportunity for mission around us. Speakers and topics are as follows:

May God use His servants and help brothers and sisters to realize the implications of M1-M4 and carry out the Great Commission, to expand God’s Kingdom.
Give thanks for S & C. S and children have returned to mission field late last year by God’s amazing grace. May God give the children wisdom to adjust to the schooling in the mission field.
Please pray for Rev. Janet Tam in Hong Kong and her new mission plans.
Pray for the Tanzanian Church as two local pastors visa has come to expiry. Also pray for James Che’s health as he is planning to return mission field with his wife in mid July. His chemo therapy treatment has been postponed accordingly. May God keep James’ health.
Prayer Items for the Week
The motto for this year will remain the same as previous year. Pray that brothers and sisters can live out the church motto this year - "Renew our lives, become His disciples."
Pray for the Deacon election in July. May God find the suitable person to serve His people and church.
Pray for pastoral recruitment for the Senior Pastor and English service pastor.
A new pastor has been hired for the Cantonese service. Please pray for her application of the work visa. May God give her peace in her wait.
Pray for the global pandemic. May God’s mercy restore the order and peace of the world.
