Three positive cases of COVID were reported to the church last Wednesday, including two cases in the Cantonese service and one in the English Children Sunday School. The church has notified all the members that attended either the Cantonese or English services last Sunday via e-mail per government guidance. Please monitor your health, and pray for the positive cases for healing.
51st Baptism will be held on 2nd October as a combined service for all three congregations. For those who wants to be baptised, please contact any Deacon, Pastor or your Small Group Leader. Deadline is 4th September. All applicants are required to have their nurturing course completed. Once an application is received, baptism class will be arranged and the deacons will meet with you to confirm your faith. Please also contact us if you would like to have your church membership transferred to HWC or would like to have child dedication.
Psalm Reading: Join us in the psalm reading project, started 1st June. We will be reading and meditating on one psalm a day, for 150 days. This will complement our study of Psalms this year. The new reading calendar for August can be downloaded here: https://ibb.co/BybtnWB
A Mid-Autumn Festival Event will be held on 11 September 2022, from 7:30pm to 9pm. This is an outreach event that aims to share our Mid-Autumn celebration with the Cantonese-speaking community. Brought to you by the Cantonese service, the night will feature games, music, a dessert contest and short talk around the theme of Mid-Autumn Festival, closing with a mix and mingle session over some Chinese traditional refreshments and Chinese riddles, while kids are welcomed to play with traditional candle-lit lanterns. Event will be held in Cantonese on stage but everyone is welcome to join us for some great fun. For further information, please contact Cassandra or Sam in the Cantonese service or refer to poster.
Training sessions for Children Sunday School Ministry will be held for those interested to serve in the ministry. The first part of the training, comprising two sessions conducted by Rev. ET Wong in English, will occur on 18 and 25 September (2-4pm) in the hall upstairs. The sessions mainly inform the Biblical perspective of children and children ministry, as well as the principles in teaching children. The second part will be held over the summer with details to follow. Please contact Daisy or Emily to register.
