Announcements

  1. A warm welcome to everyone who joined us this morning. We are delighted to see you all.

  2. Deacons Board Announcement: We thank the Lord for His guidance, as the work visa for our newly appointed Cantonese congregation pastor, Pastor Manuel Lam, has been successfully approved. May the Lord guide Pastor Lam and his family in their preparations and arrangements to come to New Zealand.

  3. Pastors and Deacons Retreat: Our church's pastors and deacons will hold a retreat on Saturday, 23rd November. May the Lord bless this time of fellowship and unity as we build up God's house together.

  4. Community Service:  On Saturday 30 November from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, an electronic waste recycling company will collect electronic parts in any condition in the church carpark. Please see the posters to learn what they will collect. Flyers are also printed for you to take home if needed. No fee will be charged to our church members.

  5. The Finance Department has emailed the total offering amount for the first half of this year (April to September) to all contributing members. If you have any questions, please email accounts@holywordchurch.org.nz for inquiries. For those who do not have email and need to verify their offering amount, please contact Tony Yeung for assistance or inquiries.

  6. Men Support Group (MSG): Sunday 24th November 2024, 2pm - 4pm

    Location: Robert's house

Charlie will be leading a session on money and financial literacy. As this is a sensitive topic, we will go over what this means for a Christian and underline why and how we should spend our money. Please register using the form below:

Mission News

  1. This year, a total of $17,040.00 has been received for the Overseas Mission (M4) Faith Pledge, while the budget is set at $30,700.00. Faith Pledge is an exercise in recognising that even though we may not have enough at the moment, we practise our faith and rely on God to provide in His time. It is also a response to God's abundant blessings. We pray that the Lord helps us to give faithfully, remembering the needs of the missionaries, and we hope they may receive this gift of encouragement before the celebration of Christ's birth.

  2. Please pray for the Mission Department as they plan and budget for the coming year. May the Lord use these efforts!

  3. Remember S & C and H & Y, as the weather in their region has entered the cold winter season. Pray for God's protection over their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, and that He blesses the work of their hands.

  4. Remember H & P, Pastor Janet Tam, James Che, and Nicholas Yao in their ministries. May those they serve be nurtured and blessed, and may more unreached people be led to the Lord. We ask for God’s guidance and use of their service!

Prayer Items

  1. Surrender to Christ: Pray that our hearts would recognise our sinfulness and choose to fully surrender to Jesus, taking up our cross and following Him.

  2. Transformation through the cross: Ask for a deeper understanding of the cross, so we may experience the transforming power of Jesus' death and resurrection.

  3. Strength to follow Jesus: Pray for strength to deny self and follow Jesus daily, relying on His grace for the journey ahead.
