Pastoral update — Pastor Herman is away preaching at Auckland Christian Mandarin Church (ACMC) this morning. Please remember him in your prayers.
Bible and politics — TNT starts again for adults on 11 October. For 5 weeks, we will dig into the Bible to learn how, as God’s people, we can navigate some key political issues of our day. Let’s come and learn together.
Mission Month Pledge Response — We now have 27 people who have responded! 21 are willing to pray for our missionaries and 3 are willing to be more involved in the Mission Department. Overseas Mission (M4) has received pledges of NZ$22,750, exceeding the target of NZ$21,950. Local Mission (M3) has received pledges of NZ$5,300 towards the target of NZ$15,222 (about 35%). We warmly invite everyone to take part in the remainder of this journey. Today, 27 September, is the last day to respond. If you haven't yet, please take the opportunity to submit your response form. 60th Baptism, Membership & Child Dedication Combined Service — Next Sunday, 4 October, we will hold the 60th Baptism Combined Service of all three congregations. The service starts at 10:00am, and the prayer meeting that morning will be at 8:30am. Please remember the following in prayer:

5. Baptism Combined Service — Telegram Translation — For next week's Combined Service, we will be using Telegram Messenger to provide the English translation. 6. Deacon Nominating Committee Report — Praise the Lord! The Deacon Nominating Committee has been formally established and has held its first meeting. The committee members are:

The committee will begin the eligibility review and selection process for the next term's deacon candidates.
7. Giving Receipts (April–September 2026) — The Finance Department will issue giving receipts for April to September 2026 in early October. To make sure the name and email address on your receipt are correct, please send your IRD-registered name and email address to accounts@holywordchurch.org.nz if you first began giving this year, have changed your email address, or have never received a giving receipt by email. For enquiries, please contact Daisy Pun or Katie Li. Your information will be used only for church giving receipts.
Giving
Let us remember the joy of giving and the blessings it brings to both the giver and the receiver. Tithe offering is a duty of all Christians. By giving, we honour God and fulfill His work through our church. May God bless the offering we willingly give. Prayer Items for this Week
Pray that we would rejoice in the Lord always, knowing that He is near, whatever we are facing this week.
Pray that we would bring our needs to God in prayer with thanksgiving, and receive His peace to guard our hearts and minds.
Pray that we would take our thoughts captive to obey Christ, and fix our minds on what is true, honourable and pure.
Pray for next week's Baptism Combined Service: for those to be baptised, those joining the church as members, and the family dedicating their child, that God would strengthen their faith and give them joy as they commit themselves to Him.
