A warm welcome to everyone who's joining us for the first time this morning. We are delighted to have you here.
Good Friday Service: The church will hold a combined online service this Friday evening (10/04/2020) at 7:30 pm. The theme is “The Seven Last Words of Jesus". There will be sharing from our pastors, followed by Holy Communion. The service will be trilingual with our pastors speaking the language of their corresponding congregations.
Due to the lockdown, baptism, membership and children dedication ceremonies previously scheduled on the 12th of April are now cancelled. The next baptism will be on the 4th of October.
Hardship Fund: Brothers and sisters who are facing economic hardship may contact the pastors. Brothers and sisters who would like to support brothers and sisters in need may donate to the Hardship Fund BNZ account 02-0108-0014295-068.
Finance Department: Due to the pandemic, any donations will now have to go through internet banking. If you need to make a donation using cheques or cash, please hold them until the church building opens again.
Pray for Muslims: the church will participate in a 30-days of prayer for the Muslims World during Ramadan (24/4-23/5) and pray for them every day. Please refer to https://www.30daysprayer.com/participate/ for details.
Bible Reading Plan
We would like to invite you to join our monthly Bible reading plan community on YouVersion. We aim to encourage us to read, study and meditate the Word of God together. We are starting a new plan called "Preparing Our Hearts for Easter: A Lenten Devotional" today. This is to prepare us for the anticipation of the life of Christ conquering the darkness of sin and death through His resurrection. Mission Information
Please pray for S&C and their children while they stay at their home in Palmerston North. They are aiming to return to the mission field in mid-May. Please remember the workers, the students and parents in their mission field.
Please pray for H&P and their children while they are in Auckland. During this time, H is preparing two mission courses which will be used to train the workers in the mission field.
Recently 102 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Sri Lanka. Colombo has a curfew for several days. Borders control has been applied to all visitors. All church services across the country have been suspended until further notice. Pray for Rev Janet to have the wisdom to continue her pastoral work. May God bring peace and comfort to the people.
Praise God that Jame Che has received an extension to his working visa in Tanzania. Pray that God allows them to work hard to serve the church there. The church in Tanzania has found a new place. A church building committee has been established. It is a lease-before-purchase agreement, and the building is very suitable for an education centre. Please remember their needs for building a new auditorium.
Prayer Items for the Week
Pray for pastoral recruitment for the Senior Pastor, Cantonese and English services.
Pray for Pastor Hui and Pastor Lim, that they will adapt to their new environment.
Pray that brothers and sisters can live out the church motto this year - "Renew our lives, become His disciples."
Pray for all areas affected by the coronavirus. We pray for God's healing.
