HWC will be hosting a Chinese New Year celebration night on 1 Feb. Potluck dinner starts at 6 pm (please sign up at the usher desk), and performance starts at 7:15 pm. Please feel free to invite your family and friends to attend.
The 2019-2021 Cantonese Congregation Committee consists of Pastor Edith Li, Ken Fong (Chairperson / Teaching department), Cassandra Lee (Mission department), Jenny Ip (Music department), Kitty Tam（Caring Department）、Desmond Lee（Sunday Service Deparment）、Coleman Lam and Amy Yeung (Deacons).
The Word of Life bible study course will be studying Deuteronomy. The course is conducted in Cantonese and will run every Tuesday night at 7.45 pm to 9:35 pm from 10 March to 5 May at CACC (60 Ben Lomond Cr, Pakuranga). Enrolments can be made here. Deadline for enrolment is 28 January.
Sri Lanka mission trip: A 10-day mission trip from 6/5 to 15/5/2020 including sharing of testimonies in English or Mandarin, evangelistic meetings, worship, leading in children music, assisting with medical examinations of the local children, and more. We are currently recruiting mission team members, with priority given to medical professionals. Proficiency in English and Mandarin is desirable. Please sign up at usher's desk or email to mission@holywordchurch.org.nz if you have any enquiries. The closing date is 23/2/2020.

We are pleased to announce our new Cantonese congregation Pastor Ivan Hui from Hong Kong. His visa has been approved and will be arriving in Auckland in March. The official start of his office will be on 17/03.
Stanley Yu is currently on leave from 21/01 to 01/02. Holman is in charge of this role from 23/01 to 25/01 and 30/01 to 01/02 (Thursday to Saturday) until Stanley’s return.
Bible Reading Plan

Mission Information
Praise the Lord! S&C has safely returned to New Zealand for a holiday. We are currently trying to organize to have them share among us.
James Che and Jessica returned to Tanzania. May God continue to keep James’ health as well as the fund-raising for building a Christian educational institution for evangelism.
Pastor Janet has introduced us to Smile Lanka, a school in Hambantota, Sri Lanka. The founder Smile International has stopped sponsoring due to shortage of donation last November. In view of this ministry desperately needing financial support, our church has decided to fundraise NZD3,000 to support their ministry. Please continue to offer to our overseas mission fund (M4).,
Prayer Items for the Week
Please pray for pastoral recruitment for the Cantonese and English services, as well as the visa application process of the newly recruited pastor for the Cantonese service.
