Our church is hosting a series of events to celebrate our 25th Anniversary:
25th Anniversary Combined Service will be held next Sunday, 19th May at 10 am. The ordination ceremony for Pastor ET will be held on the same day.
Praise Event: Date: next Sunday, 19th May. Time: 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Place: Church (2 Basalt Place)
Church anniversary celebration dinner will be hosted at Imperial Palace next Sunday at 6.00 pm. Please pay the dinner cost to Simon Tong today. A seating plan will be posted onto the board (next to the kitchen) next Sunday. Car parks are limited so please carpool if you can.
The Cantonese Service will hold a Mother's Day Sunday Worship today at 10:45 am. Each guest will receive a gift after the service.
Pastor Tony Yeung’s eye surgery on last Friday had been successful. Please continue to pray for his health and recovery.
Mission News
J&P will be preaching at our church on 2nd June. Their mission work will commence in July this year. Their first year of expenses is expected to be $89,000, and they have already fund-raised 95% of it. Pray for God’s providence and their organization of visas, body checks, childcare, etc.
Pray for Pastor Janet Tam’s ministries. Pray for the victims of the terrorist attack, may the Lord comfort and heal the injured, and give strength to the medical personnels. The government has asked the church not to hold any services over this weekend. Please pray for the hearts of the Christians.
James Che and his wife is currently on leave. They will be visiting churches in the Creative Access Areas (These are areas where it is not possible for a foreign missionary to get a visa and church activities are greatly restricted.) They will be returning to NZ at the end of May to visit and rest.
Vanuatu Short-term Mission Trip (4/06-12/06): Grace Gutry, KK Fong and Fion Fong will be joining this mission trip. HWC and they themselves will equally share two third of the travelling cost, the rest will need to be covered by fund raising. A special offering box will be available on the usher’s desk for anyone who would like to support them.
Pray for Pastor Tony Yeung, who has taken up the role to lead the Mission department. And pray for the department’s future development.
Prayer Items for the Week
Pray for the nominated deacon candidates. May God choose his faithful servants according to his will.
Pray for the church expansion executive team and the contractor. May God keep the construction safe and give us one heart and one vision to complete the project.
Our church is approaching our 25th Anniversary, Let’s give our thanksgiving to our Lord and pray that God will bless us with more wisdom in the coming years to do more for the Kingdom of God.
Please pray for Pastor Tony Yeung’s recovery after his eye surgery last Friday.
