Pastor Tong will start his annual leave tomorrow 14 January until his departure on 20 March. The Holy Word Church would like to thank him for his faithful and diligent service. May the Lord continue to empower him in his future ministries.
The “Word of Life” bible reading course held by China Graduate School of Theology is open for enrollment. This semester’s topic is “Leviticus”. The course is conducted in Cantonese. It will run from 12 March to 7 May 2018 on Tuesday nights from 7:45–9:45 pm. (Break on 23 April), at Chinese Alliance Christian Church. Cantonese and Mandarin Services will be hosting a CNY celebration night on 9 Feb. Potluck dinner starts at 6:30 pm, and performance starts at 7:30 pm.

Pray for missionaries:
a. Remember the ministry of S&C and pray for their peace.
b. Pray for Pastor Janet Tam’s serving among the Chinese community in her mission field. Remember her driving practice and safety on the road.
Pray for global mission:
a. Remember churches that are facing persecution. Pray for the faithful pastors and the faith of the church members.
b. Pray for the Chinese Christian Church in Tanzania. May God use the church to gain more non-believers.
c. Pray for the Sri Lanka Chinese Baptist Church. May the Lord build up the congregation with more talented leaders.
Prayer Items for the Week
Pray for the recruitment of pastors for the English and Cantonese congregations. May God prepare a suitable pastor to minister the members.
Pray for the nominated deacon candidates. May God choose his faithful servants according to his will.
Pray for the church expansion executive team and the contractor. May God keep the construction safe.
Pray for the organization of the Chinese New Year event on 9 February. May God use the occasion to glorify himself.
Sister Tong is undergoing chemotherapy. May God keep her and ease her pain brought on by the side effects.
Sister Lai has undergone a bypass surgery last week. Give thanks for a successful surgery. May she have a speedy recovery.
Pray for the brothers and sisters travelling overseas over the holiday. May God bless them with a safe and pleasant trip.
