  1. An English and Cantonese family forum will be held after the Cantonese Sunday service today. It will be presenting the church's development plan (Click here). Please reserve the time to join the conversation.
  2. The English service is organizing a Sports Day on 10 June 2018, from 2 to 4 pm at Lloyd Elmore Park. Activities include basketball and badminton. All are welcomed to join.
  3. The ACM company next to Holy Word Church has requested the use of the church's car park for their staff from 8:30 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday. In view of the feasibility of the arrangement and neighbourhood relationship, the Deacon Board has agreed to their use of 10 car park spaces outside our main entrance. The church will provide them parking permits which will be displayed on their windscreen. Members of Holy Word Church are also allowed to park at their premises on Sundays starting from last week.
  4. The Door-knocking Evangelism Team is recruiting new members. Please contact Cassandra Lee or Pastor Edith if you are keen to fulfill the Great Commission and spread the gospel. The team goes out every second Wednesday of the month from 4:30 to 6 pm.
  5. 2017/18 Donation receipts are available for collection from Liz Ma.  

Congregation News: 

  1. The mother of sister Winnie Chau rested on 20 May. Her funeral ceremony is scheduled to be held today in Hong Kong. Sister Winnie has already traveled back to HK to attend the funeral. 
  2. Lisa’s mother was admitted to the hospital last Monday due to pulmonary water. Her condition is stable now but she still needs to stay in the hospital.
  3. The father of Wynne Yum has passed away on 28 May. Mr Yum devoted his life to the LORD on 19 April prior to his departure. His funeral was held last Friday and his body was buried at North Shore Memorial Park. Thank you for the caring from brothers and sisters.
  4. Sister Ling (Ah Ping) from the Mandarin congregation had a stroke while attending Wynne’s dad’s funeral on Friday. She was taken to the emergency and passed away around evening time and went back the Lord. Her funeral service will be held this Wednesday at 10 am at church. Please pray for sister Ling’s family and may God comforts them.

Mission News 

  1. Praying for Japan

    1. Pray for the Gospel to take root in Japanese culture and no longer be perceived as a western religion.

    2. Pray for drifting, over-worked, and anxious youth to find freedom in Christ.

    3. Pray for the unity of God's Spirit to demolish barriers dividing the 120 different denominations.

Prayer Items for the Week

  3. Please continue to pray for Michael Kwok from the Cantonese congregation for his cancer treatment.
