Mission News
Praying for Cambodia
Cambodia was devastated as she went through the prolonged warfare. The current government of Cambodia was formed via democratic election under the supervision of the United Nation in 1993.
However, Cambodia is the least economically developed country in Asia. There is prevalent corruption amongst the officials together with blanket community violence such as thievery, looting, human trafficking, youth prostitution and abduction in the land.
1. To pray that God would reveal His might as to bless His beloved people with justice in bringing forth leaders with integrity so as to overcome corruption and that His word of truth would be authoritative in this land.
2. To pray for His church to attend to the devastation of the orphans so as to rescue them from slavery and to bring forth shalom.
3. To pray for the monarchy of Cambodia that she would take counsel with Him to govern the nation.
4. To pray for the blessing of workers -mature pastors and leaders for His churches in Cambodia particularly for rural Cambodia. To pray for the Lord of the Harvest to bring more workers to Cambodia for service.
5. There is an increase in restriction for the opportunities for foreigners to serve in Cambodia. We pray that the churches and para-church organisations would be blessed in the eyes of the local government that this would not impede the stay of the missionaries and the growth of church organisations.
Reverend Janet Tam
1. Our church will support $3,000 NZD per year for three years towards Reverend Janet Tam's mission in Sri Lanka.
2. Reverend Janet Tam has had a commissioning ceremony on the 22 April at her home church United Christian Community Church in Hong Kong.
3. She is currently waiting for her work visa. Please keep her in your prayers.
Prayer Items for the Week
Pray for brothers and sisters’ heart to apply the church motto in their life – Having the same mind as Christ.
Pray for a smooth resource consent application process for our church expansion project.
Please pray for Michael Kwok from the Cantonese congregation. He has undergone numerous therapies and is feeling very exhausted physically. Please pray for strength from God to sustain him during this period.
Sister Sau Chun Tam's husband William Wong (Tina Wong's parents) has undergone a surgery in April and the wound is yet to heal properly. May God continue to heal him and that he will receive Christ soon.
