The Church Motto for 2018/19 is: “Having the Same Mind as Christ”.
The church will have a three congregation combined service on Good Friday 30 March at 10 to 12 pm. As part of service there will be a combined choir. It is inviting all baptised Christians to take part. Registration closes on 02 February. There will be an audition on 03 February at 4 pm, follow by weekly practises at 4 to 5.30 pm on Saturdays from 10 Feb to 24 March. If you would like to take part, please contact Violet Yu.
A “Word of Life” bible reading course held by China Graduate School of Theology will be launched in Auckland. The topic is “Genesis - Everything Begins from the Covenant”. The course is conducted in Cantonese. The course will run from 10 April to 29 May 2018 on Tuesday nights from 7:45–9:45pm. Location is at Chinese Alliance Christian Church. Please enrol at usher’s desk if interested. In addition, the Lead organiser of the course from Hong Kong will prepare a sharing session on 28 January at Chinese Alliance Christian Church. Feel free to participate if interested. You may refer to posters for more information.
The 46th Baptism Service will be held on 1 April. If you would like to get baptised, please talk to your small group leader, core group or Pastor ET. Registrations close on 4 March. To be eligible you will need to have taken the 10-week nurturing course. We are also accepting church membership and children dedication registrations.
Congregational News
Michael Kwok will have an appointment with Auckland Hospital Oncology Department on 2nd February. He is still waiting for the lung sample testing result. After that the medical team will decide what type of treatment is required.
Prayer Items for the Week
Pray for a smooth resource consent application process for our church expansion project.
May God give all deacons, department heads and congregation committee the strength and wisdom to serve Him wholeheartedly. Also to unify and lead the church to become a light in the community.
Pray for the recruitment of a senior pastor. May God prepare a suitable pastor to minister to Holy Word Church.
Pray for the Mandarin congregation. May God prepare a full-time pastor to shepherd them and meanwhile, strengthen Pastor Paul Wong to handle the workload.

The 4 basic elements in Acts 2:42 are critical to the early church. How does our church compare to the early Christian community? What are some areas of improvement, personal and corporate?
