  5. Overseas Mission and Hardship Fund Financial Report for October 2024

Note: Overseas Mission Fund: The funds raised from 18th September 2024 to 15th October 2024, totaling $8,035, were remitted in mid-October to support the Smile Lanka School.

Mission News

  1. This year, a total of $17,040.00 has been received for the Overseas Mission (M4) Faith Pledge, while the budget is set at $30,700.00. Faith Pledge is an exercise in recognising that even though we may not have enough at the moment, we practise our faith and rely on God to provide in His time. It is also a response to God's abundant blessings. We pray that the Lord helps us to give faithfully, remembering the needs of the missionaries, and we hope they may receive this gift of encouragement before the celebration of Christ's birth.

  2. Please pray for the Mission Department as they plan and budget for the coming year. May the Lord use these efforts!

  3. Remember S & C and H & Y, as the weather in their region has entered the cold winter season. Pray for God's protection over their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, and that He blesses the work of their hands.

  4. Remember H & P, Pastor Janet Tam, James Che, and Nicholas Yao in their ministries. May those they serve be nurtured and blessed, and may more unreached people be led to the Lord. We ask for God’s guidance and use of their service!

Prayer Items

  1. Today's Message – Pray that the congregation would embrace the truth that God’s power is perfected in our weaknesses. May we learn to rely not on our own strength but on His grace, allowing Christ’s power to work in and through us as we humbly acknowledge our dependence on Him.

  2. Mission Prayer (see above)

  3. HWC Financial Overview-Consolidated Income & Expense Report September 2024

Mission News

  1. S & C – Please pray urgently for S's visa application. It has been over six weeks and is still pending. May the Lord watch over His servant so that they can continue to be used by Him in the local area!

  2. H & P – Remember the students and parents from the community Chinese-English classes, as well as the youth group members. Many of them have not yet come to know the Lord. May the Lord help these students, parents, and youth to receive Christ's love!

  3. Pray for the fundraising for Pastor Tam's next two years of ministry. May the Lord provide for their needs!

  4. Give thanks for the ministry of H & Y! After years of hard work by missionaries, two friends have recently come to faith. Pray that the Lord will guard and strengthen their faith. Also, three friends who had previously rejected the gift of a Bible have now willingly accepted it and agreed to read it. Praise the Lord!

  5. After James Che and his wife finished shepherding two churches in Tanzania and Ethiopia, they visited relatives in Hong Kong and Shanghai and have now safely returned to New Zealand. Pray that the Lord grants them rest after their busy travels and protects their health!

  6. Nicholas Yao – During the mid-term break, Nicholas organized a boys' retreat with over 50 participants, including new believers, long-time Christians, and non-believers. They studied the Bible together, and we pray that all the students are built up in their faith. May the Lord use Nicholas’s ministry on the university campus to support those who are spiritually weak, help those in difficulty, and lead more unreached people to Christ.

Prayer Items

  1. Today's Message – Pray for the congregation to be inspired by Paul's charge in 2 Tim 4:1-5, proclaiming Jesus as Lord with patience and perseverance, even in difficult times.

  2. Students Facing Exams: Pray for wisdom, focus, and peace as students prepare for and sit their exams, trusting in God for the outcome.

  3. Children’s Ministry: Pray for spiritual growth in the children’s ministry and for smooth transitions for those joining the English Service next year, so that they may feel welcomed and encouraged.

  4. Christmas Season Preparation: Pray for God’s guidance in planning Christmas events, that the church community may reflect Christ’s love and share the gospel meaningfully during this season.
