Announcements

  1. A warm welcome to everyone who joined us this morning. We are delighted to see you all.

  2. 55th Baptism will be held on 31st March as a combined service for all three congregations. For those who want to be baptised, please contact any Deacon, Pastor or your Small Group Leader. The deadline is 25th February. All baptism applicants are required to have their nurturing course completed. Once an application is received, baptism class will be arranged and the deacons will meet with you to confirm your faith. Please also contact us if you would like to have your church membership transferred to HWC or would like to have child dedication.

  3. 30th Anniversary Church Celebration Dinner: On the joyful occasion of our 30th anniversary, the church will arrange for brothers and sisters to gather for a celebratory banquet. All are welcome to join and rejoice together, commemorating God's grace.

Mission News

  1. Pray for S & C, that in this cold winter, the Lord may grant them strength and wisdom to lead their co-workers' team and serve in training local church leaders.

  2. H & P are currently participating in the local team's annual gathering, where they share their respective ministries and mutually support each other in prayer. Pray that the Lord accepts their work and remembers their needs.

  3. Remember Pastor Janet Tam as she prepares for the choir at the Smile Lanka School for the poor, organising both the kindergarten and children's choirs. Also, pray for her safety during the long drive! Pastor Tam will take a 3-week vacation to Australia starting on 5/2, pray for a pleasant and safe journey.

  4. Pray for H & Y's rental situation. Due to the soaring local prices, rental costs have risen as well. Pray for the Lord's mercy and assistance, and also pray for their visas, asking the Lord to guide them.

  5. Pastor James Che and his wife are busy serving the Lord. Last week, they returned to the church in Tanzania to serve the brothers and sisters. Pray for the preservation of their health and safety.

Prayer Items for the Week

  1. Pray that God may grant our children Sunday school teachers and helpers the wisdom and creativity needed to plan engaging lessons and activities that will deeply resonate with the hearts of the children.

  2. Pray for those who are considering taking the step of baptism. May they experience a deep understanding of the significance of this commitment and feel the guidance of the Holy Spirit as they make this important decision.

  3. Pray that the church 30th anniversary celebrations would be more than a commemoration of time passed, but a time of spiritual renewal, growth, and a deepening of our faith.

  4. Pray that God ignites a fervent passion within our hearts for sharing the good news of salvation and ask for open hearts and willing spirits within our church community to contribute generously to support the mission work.

  5. The Significant Woman life coaching discipleship course: it is designed for women of all ages and stages of life. This course will help you experience a renewed passion for living, a more intimate relationship with God, and a stronger sense of God’s unique plan for your life. The course is built on 6 biblically based principles and is taught in a coaching environment. Come and discover more about your meaning in life and your own personal mission with other group members. 
    Date: Sundays between 11 February and 2 June, 1030am - 1200pm at church. Please contact Kera if you want to register and have any questions. Deadline for registration is 28 Jan.

  6. 30th Anniversary Commemorative Card: To provide our brothers and sisters with more opportunities to participate in the 30th-anniversary activities, the 30th Anniversary Magazine Committee has specially prepared 2 anniversary cards. Everyone is invited to write brief thoughts, visions, and blessings on these cards. The cards will be scanned and included as pages in the magazine. Please prepare your messages beforehand. Thank you for your cooperation. The cards will be posted next week near the canteen bulletin board for writing. Space is limited, so please write promptly.

  7. New Year's Gathering and Worship: To be held on 11/02/24, Sunday, after the worship service. Family and friends are welcome to attend. Please bring your own tableware, and lunch offerings are voluntary. Those participating in lunch, please sign up at the service desk. The deadline is 4/02/24.

  8. Congregational News: Brother Fai Yau's mother (Daniel Yau's grandmother), rested in the Lord last Sunday. Pray for the Lord's comfort for her family. Brother Fai and his wife (Lydia) will travel to Hong Kong for the funeral in mid-February. Please pray for their safe journey.

Prayer Items for the Week

  1. Give thanks to God for our pastors. Ask God to grant them wisdom as they navigate the challenges of ministry, discernment to understand God's will, and a deep sense of God's presence in their lives.

  2. Pray for those who are considering baptism and joining our church family. May the Spirit guide them, granting clarity and assurance. May God prepare their hearts for the upcoming baptism service and surround them with a supportive community. 

  3. Pray for God's provision, that all our financial needs may be met according to God's glorious riches. Ask for God's guidance and wisdom in managing our resources with integrity and wisdom.

  4. Pray that the Lord will safeguard Pastor Ivan and his family's physical, mental, and spiritual well-being during their time off, and grant them renewed strength.

  5. Currently, there is ongoing conflict in Israel and Palestine involving the Hamas organisation. Additionally, Israel is engaged in attacks with Lebanon. Concerns are rising about the possibility of the conflict spreading and causing more harm. In Afghanistan, an area with a Shia Muslim population is facing attacks by the Islamic State, resulting in casualties. We pray for an end to the violence by the Islamic State and for God to intervene, stopping hatred and hostility. May peace come soon, bringing justice and tranquility to the people's long-awaited desires.
