  1. A warm welcome to everyone who's joining us for the first time this morning. We are delighted to have you here.

  2. We would like to encourage our brothers and sisters to wear a mask or face covering when attending our activities. As you are entering into the church building, please remember to sanitise your hands and sign in using the NZ COVID Tracer App or write your name down on the attendance form. We will continue to live stream our Sunday services online for those who needed to stay home.

  3. Summer Day Out (Cantonese Service): will be held on 23 January (Saturday) at Devonport. If you are interested, please register by 20 January at the ushers’ desk.

  4. Chinese New Year Gala: To celebrate CNY with our friends, family, and people in the local area, we will be holding a gala on 13 February (Saturday) from 2pm to 5pm at HWC. There will be games and food stalls where you can make purchases with vouchers. All proceeds will go to support the Auckland Foundation Covid-19 Community Response Fund to help families who have been affected by the pandemic. Vouchers cost $10, please contact Sam Chan if you would like to purchase vouchers.

  5. Cantonese Service Summer holiday activities:

    Family’s wool felting class:
    (i) Wet felting class - Ages 4-6; Date: 30 January 2021
    Parents must accompany in the class and each class will hold 10 children. Classes will hold at 10:00a.m. - 12:00p.m. Fee is $15 per person.

  6. 2021 calendar. The calendars were distributed last week, if you have not collected yours you may do say from the main door as you exit the church. Each family unit may take one.

  7. Vincent and Shireen wedding will be hosted on 16/01/2021, 10:30AM at St. Aidan’s Anglican Church (5 Ascot Avenue, Remuera). Welcome brothers and sisters to attend their ceremony. Invitation is on the notice board.

  8. Pastor Ivan Hui is on annual leave between 13 and 20 January.

  9. After a year of ministry and serving together, the church (the Deacon Board, Rev ET and Pastor Ivan) and Rev Lim have discussed and reviewed their working relationship to date. Both parties acknowledged that there are some difficulties collaborating and serving together. For this reason, both parties agreed that Rev Lim will be on leave for four months, effective from today.

Mission Information

  1. Please remember S&C, H&P and Pastor Janet Tam in your prayers. Pray that God gives them physical and spiritual health and peace so they can pastor their respective churches and glorify God. Please pray for their families and co-workers in the mission field.

  2. Pastor James Che’s health has improved. Give thanks to the Lord and continue to pray for his recovery.

  3. Pray for missionary Karen Tong and Committee President Brother Ding, as they serve in Tanzanian Church in the absence of Pastor James Che.

  4. Pray for the Mission department’s $23,000 annual budget. We hope to give $16,500 of offerings to the missionaries by the end of the year.

  1. Pray for pastoral recruitment for the Senior Pastor and English services Pastor.

  2. The motto for this year will remain the same as previous year. Pray that brothers and sisters can live out the church motto this year - "Renew our lives, become His disciples."

  3. A new pastor has been hired for the Cantonese service. Please pray for her application of the work visa. May God give her peace in her wait.

  4. Continue to pray for the world during COVID-19 period. May God brings peace to those who are impacted.

  6. Pastor Yeung has resigned from the position of Mission Department Head. His last day in this role is 8/01/2021 and will remain as a member in the mission department. Please pray for him as he explore more opportunities to serve.

Mission Information

  1. Please remember S&C living physically apart in two places this Christmas. May God’s mercy be upon them.

  2. Pray for H&P, who are organizing a mission course with local church and organization in their Creative Access Nation. May God also remember and look after their older child who is living in New Zealand.

  3. Pray for Pastor Janet Tam’s mission work in Sri Lanka which has become very challenging due to the pandemic. Please pray for her application of a new work visa with the current one expiring in January. May God lead her way back to Hong Kong for reporting of her mission work.
