  3. Rev Stephen Tong will hold an evangelistic event on Monday 28th October at 7 pm at the Victory Convention Centre 98 Beaumont Street Auckland. The theme will be the life testimony of Rev Tong, titled as “Use my whole life”. Brothers and sisters are welcomed to invite non-Christian friends to join.

  4. Rev Stephen Tong will hold a music concert (Thursday 31st October) at 7.30 pm at the Victory Convention Centre 98 Beaumont Street Auckland. Rev Stephen will be the conductor and tickets are $20 each. Please register at the usher desk and contact Rev Mark Wen for further details.

  5. New traffic arrangement within the church car park has taken effect. The driveway to Lady Ruby Drive is only for exiting the car park, entry is limited to the driveway from Basalt Place.

  6. Registration for this year’s camp is now opened! This year’s topic is “The Cost of the Cross” with Aaron Geddis as the main speaker. Date: Friday 29th November 6 pm - Sunday 1st December 2 pm. Location: Peter Snell Youth Village 1212 Whangaparaoa Rd, Gulf Harbour, Whangaparaoa. Students - $124 and Working - $130. Sign up before November 1st!

  7. Pastor Edith Yeung will be on leave from 28/10 to 7/11.

Mission Information

  1. Pray for S & C’s mission work and their planning for their trip back home next year to recount their mission. May God save more souls by His grace.

  2. Pray for Rev Janet Tam who is preparing to welcome a Hong Kong mission team that arrives in December. May God give her energy and health to embrace all the challenges in her ministries.

  3. Pray for Mission Department for their coordination of a mission trip to Sri Lanka in May next year. May God guide the planning and strengthen our hearts of evangelism.

  4. Please remember the development of M4 mission work in the Mission Department. May God encourage us to care for the needs for global mission.

Prayer Items for the Week

  1. The new church motto for the next 2 years - “Renew Our Lives. Become His Disciples”. Pray that brothers and sisters can live out this motto.

  2. Please pray for the pastoral recruitment committee as they interview candidates of senior pastor, English youth pastor, Cantonese and Mandarin pastors. May the Lord guide this whole process.

  3. Thank God for the construction work for church expansion has been going well. May God give us one heart and one vision to complete this project.

  4. Pray for the brothers and sisters who are going away during the summer holidays. May God keep them safe and stay connected spiritually.

  5. Pray for the “Door-knocking ministry”, where members reach out to residents in Flat Bush every fourth Saturday afternoon and every second Wednesday afternoon of the month.

  3. Since the church is now air-conditioned, there are four extra heaters to give away for brothers and sisters in need. Those who are interested may contact our deacon Wynne Wong by 3rd November. Any remaining units will be donated to charity. And in order to clear out more space in the storage room backstage, the General Department requests each responsible party to remove their cardboard and props as soon as possible.

  4. Spring BBQ: The caring department of the Cantonese Service is organizing a spring BBQ which will take place at HWC this evening at 5–7 pm. Fees: $15 for adults, $5 for children from 6–10 years old, free for children less than 5 years old. Families and friends are welcome.

  5. Rev Stephen Tong will come to Auckland end of October to hold an evangelistic event on Monday 28th October at 7 pm. Preparations are being carried out in Auckland and they require about 130 helpers in childcare, transportation, ushers, and few other services. Brothers and sisters are willing to help, please register at the usher desk and fill out which service(s) and date(s) that you can participate. Please contact Rev Mark Wen for further details.

Mission Information

  1. Pray for the Chinese language course at the Tanzania Chinese Church and its development of the Christian Cultural Centre. Several students’ parents have turned to Christ. May the Lord strengthen the heart of the new believers and let them grow in his love.

  2. Pray for the three newly baptised members of the Sri Lanka First Chinese Baptist Church. May their spirit grow strong each and every day. And pray for the church’s in developed Children music school, that more children can be brought to Jesus.

  3. Pray for the eight members of Mission Course. May God inspire them to evangelise, strengthen their heart.

  4. Please remember the planning of Sri Lanka Short Term Mission in your prayer. May God inspire more members to understand the meaning of mission and participate in evangelism.
