  4. 25th Anniversary Event: There are 2 free biblical workshops will be held on June 28th (Friday) from 2:00 - 5:30 pm and 29th (Saturday) from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. Registration is required. A Bible Conference (培靈會) will be held from 7:45 to 9:30 these two evenings. All events will take place at our Church. Speaker: KK Leung (Head of “Word of Life” programme at China Graduate School of Theology), please refer to the poster (link). All Brothers and sisters are invited to attend. Please register your interest at the Usher desk.

Mission News 

  1. Vanuatu Short-term Mission Trip: Praise to the Lord! Grace Gutry, KK Fong and Fion Fong returned to Auckland safety on 12th June. May the Lord establish and firm their works. They will be arranged to share their ministry to all brothers and sisters.

  2. S & C is now arranging summer activities, May the Lord help them to find suitable partners, give them wisdom, and let more people get life education. Please also pray for their two children’s daily living.

  3. Missionaries J&P will be leaving NZ at the beginning of July and start the mission field for their mission work and training. May God guide their path and help them settle into the field.

  4. Pray for Pastor Janet Tam’s ministries. She currently preaching two times a month. Pray that her preaching can meet the needs of the congregation. She is now applying for the work visa for her second year. Please pray for God’s guidance.

  5. James Che and his wife have taken a leave of absence from the Tanzania Chinese Christian International Church. During this time, a Korean missionary couple will be shepherding the church. James and his wife are now back to New Zealand visiting churches and taking a rest. Please pray for the Tanzania Chinese Christian International Church, and for James’ health as he receives treatment in New Zealand.

  6. August Mission Month, topic will be “A Life of Mission”. Please pray for the speakers Karl Udy, Janet Tam and Rev Timothy Lim. May their preaching encourage our mission life.

Prayer Items for the Week

  1. With one of the nominated candidates having withdrawn from the upcoming candidacy, please pray that God would choose his faithful servants according to his will. Pray for the new deacons so they will serve God and the church faithfully.

  2. Pray for the church expansion executive team and the contractor. May God keep the construction safe and give us one heart and one vision to complete the project.

  3. Congregation news: Please pray for Amy Yeung from Cantonese Service, who fell off and has been sent to the hospital. It’s thankful that she has no fractures, but she has to rest at home because of the pain.

  4. Please pray for Hong Kong and be peace. May God's will, righteousness, mercy, and kingdom come to this land. May the leader love people, so that people will live devoutly.

  3. Offering Receipts: As mentioned earlier in the year, we will be sending out offering receipts via email. If you have not already registered your email with us, you may send an email to the church administrator Stanley Yu (hwc@holywordchurch.org.nz) with your name and stating whether you are a church member or non-member.

  4. Leadership Training: Pastor Philip Porter has started teaching a course equipping believers to become spiritual leaders. The training is conducted in English and held at our church on the following evenings: 11 June, 18 June, 9 July, 16 July and 23 July from 7:45 pm to 9.00 pm. Please register your interest at the ushers’ desk. If you wish to find out more please contact Kenneth Fong from the Cantonese Congregation.

  5. Baptism: An elder from the rest home Ambridge Rose Manor, Mr Jin, will be getting baptized at 10:30 am on Saturday 15th June in room 223 of the rest home (157 Edgewater Drive, Pakuranga). Everyone is invited to attend and witness the baptism for the glory of God.

Mission News
