Announcements

  1. The 48th Baptism will be held on 21 April 2019. Brothers and sisters who want to get baptised please apply to the pastoral team or deacons. Deadline for application is 24 March. Applicants are required to complete the church's nurturing course, and those who have not started the course should contact the pastors or deacons. Applications for church membership and children dedication are also open.

  2. Church Choir Recruitment: To celebrate the church’s 25th Anniversary, Sacred Music Department will assemble a church choir of all 3 congregations to perform on 19 May 2019. It is now open for registration and will require an audition to be accepted. The deadline for registration is 3 March 2019; audition date is 9 March (Saturday) at 4:30 pm; and the first practice will be 16 March (Saturday) at 4 pm. Please contact Jenny Ip or Kevin Lee for details.

  3. The 2019 Children's Sunday School will start on 3 March. Parents are required to enroll their children in Room 1 today or next Sunday from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm. Registered children will receive an enrollment gift.

  4. A special general meeting will be held today at 12:30 pm. The agenda includes additional budget for church expansion project and fund raising. Members please be sure to attend the meeting. 

     

Mission News 

  1. Pray for missionaries:

    a. Remember the ministry of S&C and pray for the peace of the family.

    b. Pray for Pastor Janet Tam as she continues with the learning of the local language. May God give her wisdom.

    c. Pray for James Che and his wife for their ministry in Africa. May God strengthen them to shepherd the church.

    d. Pray for the 9-day medical mission trip (4–12 June 2019) to Vanuatu organized by Care Ministries International (CMI).

  2. Pray for global mission:

    a. Pray for the Chinese government to ease their pressure on Christians in China.

    b. Pray for the church and missionaries in China to keep their faith amidst the difficult times.

Prayer Items for the Week

  1. Pray for the nominated deacon candidates. May God choose his faithful servants according to his will.

  2. Pray for the church expansion executive team and the contractor. May God keep the construction safe.

  3. Two religious groups are emerging in the neighborhood of our church. Please pray for our vigilance and our hearts to evangelize.

  4. Pray for the SGM, that we can be unified in our vision for the church expansion plan.

  1. The recruitment of a senior pastor, Cantonese pastor and English pastor for youth ministry is advertised on various platforms, including newspapers, seminaries, church group e-mails and Facebook. Please pray earnestly for the recruitment.

  2. There will be a church expansion family forum on today from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. Deacons will be sharing the progress of the church expansion.

  3. A special general meeting will be held on 17 Feb (next Sunday) at 12:30 pm. The agenda includes additional budget for church expansion project and fund raising. The documentations will be distributed to member through email, or printed copies available on the front desk near entrance. Members please be sure to attend the meeting.

    b. Pray for the Sri Lanka Chinese Baptist Church. May the Lord build up the congregation with more talented leaders.

  5. Ms Cao recently suffered from back pain due to osteoporosis. It impacts her sleeps and daily life. Pray for her recovery.

  6. Brother Thomas was admitted to Middlemore Hospital last week for suspected stroke. He is currently stable and waiting test result. Pray for Thomas recovery.

  7. Sister 汪碧秀 from the Joy Fellowship passed away last Sunday. Her funeral service was held yesterday. Please pray for God’s comfort for her family.

  8. Pray for the brothers and sisters travelling overseas over the holiday. May God bless them with a safe and pleasant trip.
