  1. Deacon Nomination Committee members: Pastor E Ting Wong; Wynne Wong (Deacon Board); Selina Mak, Liz Ma, and Cassandra Lee (Congregation Committee); Tony Yeung, and Sunny Ha (Church members).

  2. The 47th Baptism will be held on 7 October 2018. Brothers and sisters who want to get baptised please apply to the pastoral team or deacons. Deadline for application is 16 September. Applicants are required to complete the church's nurturing course, and those who have not started the course should contact the pastors or deacons. Applications for church membership and children dedication are also open.

  3. The church has received a feedback letter recently. The deacon board would like to thank our brothers and sisters for caring about church matters. Unfortunately, the letter is anonymous, and the deacons find it hard to gain a full understanding of the issues raised and to follow up on them. Therefore the deacons would like to ask the sender to contact the board before 26/09. If brothers and sisters have any feedback for the church, please remember to give us your name so that the matter raised can be followed up properly.

Mission News

1. Our Mission month theme is "Heart for Mission. Beginning with Prayers"

2. Praying for Iran:

Since the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Khomeini became the supreme leader of Iran and established the Islamic Republic, where the Islamic religion and politics became unified in the country. Iran has an ancient and noble culture in the cradle of civilization. Today, however, the country suffers from high unemployment, suicide and poverty, and many Iranians wish to leave the country. According to the Islamic Shariah, children born in a Muslim family are born with the identity of Muslims and their identity cards are labelled "I am a Muslim". There are however some Iranians, mostly young people, who have a Muslim status but no Muslim faith.

Prayer items:

  • Pray for the Iranians, especially those with a Muslim status but no Muslim faith, that they will come to know Christ and receive God's salvation.

  • Pray for God's protection of the church who are being persecuted in Iran, that they will keep their faith and glorify God as the salt and light.

Prayer Items for the Week

  1. Pray for brothers and sisters’ heart to apply the church motto in their life – Having the same mind as Christ.

  2. Pray for a smooth resource consent application process for our church expansion project.

  3. Pray for the recruitment of an English pastor. May God prepare a suitable pastor to minister the English congregation.

  4. Jenny Yip has had her operation on Trigeminal nerve and is recovering well. Keep her in your prayers.

  5. Diagnosis has confirmed that Michael Kwok had his lung cancer cells spread to the liver. The medical team is applying for a new drug and if unsuccessful, will organize other therapies. Outcomes of his brain radiotherapy will be followed up in mid-October. Thank God for the swift therapeutic arrangement by the medical team, and for giving Michael peace to handle the treatment. Please pray for the application for the new drug and a smooth therapy to eradicate the tumor.
